KARACHI, Nov 21: Five ships carrying vehicles and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. The cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a new all-time high record volume of 0.201m tons was handled, surpassing its previous single day record of 0.175m tons. Both liquid and dry tonnage added to the total.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly brisk where 10 ships, Rickmers Mumbai, Wilma, Erikousa, Iran Yamin to unload and load general cargo, Satha Bhum, Jade-C, Cape Scott and Kota Jasa, to unload and load containers, Shalamar, and Berana to offload crude oil.

A record number of 16 vessels departed during the last two days after loading and unload cargoes. They are: Sinar Bonang, Iran Shahryar, Wan Hai-265, Sanko Summit, Neptune Ace, Teen, Viktor Talalikhin, Santa Fe, Corin Thaikos, Cape Scott, Jade–C, Satha Bhum, Swat, Oriental Salvia and Suez Express, while Wilma, Kota Jasa, Shalamar, Iran Yamin, Rickmers Mumbai, Yang Jiang He and Maersk Alaska.

The following vessels are due on Tuesday: Thor Captain, PONL Buenos Aires, Sea Beta, with containers, and Thor Anglia, with containers and 65 vehicles.
