High Court bar polls

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA Nov 20: The returning officer for Balochistan High Court Bar Association elections, Senator Amanullah Kanrani, has announced that Senator Kamran Murtaza and Sajid Tareen have been elected president and general secretary respectively of the BHCBA.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday he said that the results were compiled on the bases of the votes cast on September 10 in all the districts except Quetta.

He said the process of elections in the provincial capital could not be completed owing to interference on the polling day and re-polling could not be held due to the unpleasant atmosphere.

Other office bearers include vice president Ghulam Mustafa Mengal, joint secretary Rafiq Lango, treasurer Jamil and library secretary Shams Rind.

PAKISTAN BAR COUNCIL: Ali Ahmed Kurd was declared elected member of the Pakistan Bar Council from Balochistan in the election held on Saturday in the office of the advocate general of Balochistan.

Ali Ahmed Kurd obtained 4 votes while his opponent Amanullah Kanrani advocate secured two votes.
