PESHAWAR, Nov 19: Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that the government has made short- and long-term plans for the rehabilitation of quake victims and reconstruction of the infrastructure in the province. The government has set up tent villages in the affected districts where people were being provided with basic amenities, he said while talking to a delegation from Swat and Shangla districts here on Saturday.

He said the destruction caused by the quake was beyond imagination, but “our courage and sense of perseverance is much more than that”.

The delegation was led by the Amir of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Swat, Qari Abdul Bais, MNA.

The chief minister told the delegation that quake victims would be rehabilitated under a planned programme and added that the government had identified a piece of land for the purpose.

He said the compensation would be paid to survivors as quickly as possible.

He said that shelter houses in Hayatabad and Larama were also providing educational, health care, residential and other facilities to victims.
