Delegation’s visit to Israel put off

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18: Pakistan on Friday denied sending or sponsoring any delegation to Israel and said the delegation scheduled for a visit in November had been postponed, following the Oct 8 quake. In reply to a question about reports that a Pakistani delegation led by Ajmal Qadri was visiting Israel, FO spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said: “There is no government’s sponsorship. The delegation might have gone on its own.”

She said the ministry of foreign affairs had neither any association with the reported delegation nor it had any information about it.

Ms Aslam said an official delegation from Pakistan had been scheduled to visit Gaza and the West Bank in November. The visit was postponed along with other officials or officially-sponsored visits abroad in the wake of Oct 8 earthquake.—APP
