Magical spell by Salman

LAHORE, Nov 18: Excellent bowling by off-spinner Salman Afzal, who snared seven wickets for 48 helped Lahore Shalimar earn 64-run lead on first innings against Faisalabad in the national under-19 cricket Inter-region tournament at the Bohranwali Ground, Faisalabad on Friday.

Faisalabad were well placed when they resumed the innings at 75-2 but were bowled out for 162 as the remaining eight batsmen could add only 77 runs.

Lahore Shalimar increased the lead to 256 runs by scoring 192 for seven in the second innings when the stumps were drawn for the day.

LAHORE SHALIMAR (1st innings) 226 (Ali Raza 4-86, Muhammad Laiq 3-50) and 192 for seven

FAISALABAD (1st innings) 162 (Salman Afzal 7-48).

MULTAN (1st innings) 329 for 4 in 83 overs (Farhan Pervez 82, Naveed Ahmed 68, Aqeel Anwar 71).

PESHAWAR (1st innings): 125 (Qaiser Shahzad 5-22) and 152 for five(Shahid Iqbal 53 not out).

ISLAMABAD V ABBOTTABAD

ISLAMABAD 157 and 146 for six wickets ABBOTTABAD 147 (Jawad Ghani 46, Mudassar Ibrahim 43 not out; Imran Rafique 6-61).
