KARACHI: Noorani’s urs to be held worldwide


KARACHI, Nov 18: Religious and political figures, including MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmed, opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and opposition leader in the Senate Mian Raza Rabbani, as well as legislators, ulema, scholars and people from all walks of life from around the world would attend the second Urs of Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani being held here on Sunday (Nov 20).

This was stated by Sahibzada Mohammad Owais, son of Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani, while addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Friday.

Mufti Abdul Haleem Siddiqui, Shabir Abu Talib, Qazi Ahmed Noorani, and Mufti Abdul Haleem Qadri were also present.

He said that religious conferences, milad, fateha, seminars and other events had been organized all over the world on the eve of the Urs. Branches of the World Islamic Mission were also holding the Urs in their respective countries, he added.

A ceremony in this regard was being held at the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rahman Madni in the holy city of Madina, he said, adding that congregations had been organized in various mosques of Dubai, Mauritius, the Netherlands, England, Canada, USA, Denmark, Germany, India, Bangladesh and South Africa.

He urged the Sindh chief secretary, home secretary, CCPO and DIG Karachi, DG Rangers, DIG Traffic and other officials to make suitable arrangements to facilitate the celebrations.—PPI
