KARACHI, Nov 17: Pakistan had a solid foundation of sailing and can do wonders globally provided they utilize their potentials accordingly. ‘The level of sailing in Pakistan was much better then many other countries of the world,’ ISAF judge, Pat Healy, told participants at the conclusion of four-day course which concluded at the National Sailing Centre (NSC) on Thursday.

Healy, a former chairman of ISAF judges sub committee, said he had watched Pakistani sailors competing against rest of the world abroad and has no hesitation in saying that their standard was quite good.

He called upon Pakistani sailors to continue work hard if they want to remain in contention internationally.

Healy who helped Canada win one silver and four bronze in three Olympics as coach, had conducted similar judging courses in a number of countries.

This was the third ISAF sponsored course held this year, the previous two being Race Management and Learn To Sail.

Secretary, Pakistan Sailing Federation (PSAF), Capt (retd) S. V. Hasan, presented him a bat signed by the present Pakistan cricket team.

Later, certificates were distributed among the participants.

Participants of the course were: Javed Rasool, Mamoon Sadiq, Ashraf Javed, M. Akram Tariq(PN Aquatic Club), Suleman Anjum (PN Sailing Club, Islamabad), Imdad Hussain (PIA), Munawar Alam, M. Ismail, Muhammad Yousuf and Muhammad Tanveer (PAF), Sajjad Ahmed Abbasi, Kamran Ahmed Khan, Altaf Rehman, Abdul Majed, Amir Rehman, Mazhar Hussain, Maj. Mahyar Dhatigara (Army) and Mir Masood Rashid (PYSA).
