Pakistan’s medal hopes dashed
MIANYANG (China), Nov 17: Pakistan’s medal hopes finally dashed on Thursday when Meherullah and Abid Jan crashed out of the world boxing championships after being beaten on points in the preliminary bouts.
Featherweight Meher bowed down when he lost to Andreas Propp of Germany on points, while Abid was sent packing home by Al Garaghir I.M. Ibrahim of Jordan on points in the bantamweight bout.—Agencies
