Earthquake match raises Euro 1m

ISLAMABAD, Nov 16: A sum of Euro 1 million has been raised through a benefit match organised by the Royal Dutch Hockey Association in Rotterdam last month for Pakistan earthquake victims.

Steven Morris, marketing manager of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), disclosed on Wednesday.

The sum is in addition to 25 million Euros given in aid by the Dutch government.

Later in the day Morris held PTV officials and offered exclusive terrestrial rights for all international tournaments organised by FIH, especially the Champions Trophy and the World Cup.

During the meeting the FIH also offered exclusive rights to telecast women’s international matches free of cost for the promotion and development of game in Pakistan.—By Our Sports Reporter
