Nazims vow struggle for rights

By Our Correspondent

KOHAT, Nov 16: District nazims of Karak, Kohat and Hangu have vowed to launch a joint struggle for the rights of the region. Speaking at a joint meeting held here on Wednesday, Kohat Nazim Seth Gohar Saifullah, Hangu Nazim Ghaniur Rehman and Karak Nazim Rehmat Salam Khattak decided to take up the issue of commercial supply of gas with the provincial and federal governments at the earliest.

District and regional heads of the government departments were also present in the meeting.

They decided to stop supply of gas to other parts of the country if it is not made available to residents of Karak and Hangu districts, where huge reservoirs had been discovered.

The three nazims agreed that local people had the first right to gas facility and promised to make all out efforts in this regard.

They expressed grave concern over unusual delay in repair of the newly constructed Kohat Rawalpindi road and asked the department concerned to expedite the work. Expressing dissatisfaction over the general law and order situation in the division they asked the regional police chief to ensure security to life and property.

In a joint declaration issued at the end of the meeting the three nazims vowed to weed out corruption from the society.
