Published November 17, 2005

KARACHI, Nov 16: The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission will celebrate the World Space Week from Nov 19 to 27. This was announced in a statement issued by Suparco here on Wednesday.

It said the activity was being marked in accordance with the resolution 54/68 of December 6, 1999, of the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space Affairs. It had declared that the World Space Week would be celebrated internationally by all states from Oct 4 to 10 every year.

Since this period fell during Ramadan, the Spaceweek International Association in consultation with the Muslim countries, decided to celebrate this week from Nov 19 to 27. — APP
