KARACHI, Nov 16: On the orders of Acting Chief Controller of Buildings, Rauf Akhtar Farooqi, the licences of two engineers and an architect were cancelled while licences of six other engineers and architects were suspended for a specified period.

The licences were cancelled in respect of Architect Tehsin Ahmed (AL-01-369), Engr Qasim A. Rizvi (SE-06-228), Engr Sajjad Imran Bilgrami (SE 06-215) on charge of overlooking and showing carelessness to violations in construction laws in various projects in Saddar Town.

According to KBCA, illegal constructions were carried out in violation of plans approved by the KBCA in respect of various ongoing construction projects. Taking notice of the same and acting on the orders of chief controller the licences of six engineers and architects were revoked/ suspended.

Licences of Architect Shabbir Ahmed Qureshi (AL 01-13), Syed Ali Dawood (AL 01-438), M. Qamaruddin (AL 01-674), Engr Khawaja M. Asghar (SE 06-240), Engr Syed Bshir Hussain (SE 06-252) were suspended for six months and that of Engr Yakub Ahmed (SE 06-173) for one year. —APP
