KARACHI, Nov 16: Ten ships carrying containers, steel, iron scrap and to load ethanol are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where 10 vessels were berthed: They are: Ever Duide, Sinar Bontang, United Prosperity, and APL Dalian, to unload and load containers, Sargodha, to load rice, Xin Qiang, to offload steel, Sibi, to unload phosphate, and Al-Marwah, to offload chemicals.

Six vessels — Thor Captain, Ever Guide, Bei Hai, Al-Hussaini and Al-Marwah — departed on Wednesday, while Anjum, United Prosperity, Yangze River, Bolan and Lisa-J are due to sail out on Thursday.

A total tonnage of 92,787 tons comprising 10,703 tons of export cargo, including 3,832 tons of rice and 82,084 tons of import tonnage, was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Lake Ranger, with 34,000 tons of iron scrap, Golden Far East, with methanol, Swat, with crude oil, Oriental Salvia, to load 4,500 tons of ethanol, Corin Thaikos, Scotia, Sagamore, Jade-C, and Iran Shahryar, with containers, and African Leopard, with steel.
