LAHORE, Nov 16: The Endhoven Chamber of Commerce and Industry has pledged to evolve a persistent mechanism of collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) to enhance business interaction of the Dutch SMEs with their counterparts in Pakistan.

Endhoven Chamber International Trade Manager Jos Von Hulten exchanged a number of ideas for collaboration with a team of Smeda experts, led by Central Support Services General-Manager Anjum Ahmed, at the Smeda head office here on Wednesday.

Mr Hulten invited Smeda to settle terms and conditions for long-term arrangements for SMEs of the two countries with the chamber.

He said the Endhoven Chamber was serving the Brabant Region in the southern Netherlands where almost 20 per cent of the total Dutch manufacturing activity took place. The region had a great potential for joint ventures in metal working, footwear, biotechnology, information and electro technology, pharmacy and process automation sectors.

He said he had been highly impressed by the growth potential of SMEs sector in Pakistan which offered opportunities for the Dutch SMEs. He said the Netherlands trade delegation visiting China in the near future would visit Pakistan as well.

Replying to a question about business opportunities in the Netherlands, he said it was very easy to establish a business company in his country. He invited the Pakistani entrepreneurs to visit the Netherlands for exploring possibilities for joint ventures and asked Smeda to organize the visit.
