Elegant knock by Asher
ISLAMABAD, Nov 15: Asher Zaidi struck an elegant 175 on Tuesday as Islamabad posted an imposing 339 runs on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy (Silver League) game against Quetta at the Diamond Cricket Ground. The batsman’s sparkling innings was laced with impressive 30 hits to the ropes and a six. He faced 233 deliveries and batted comfortably to give his side an early advantage in the match.
Asher was dismissed late in the day by Aroon Lal who took 3-89 behind strike bowler Azharullah who returned figures of 4-95.
Raheel Majeed’s fine half century was however overshadowed by the batting heroics of Asher.
Quetta openers Shoaib Khan and Hameedullah, in reply, could face only one ball without loss before bad light stopped play 4.5 overs early.
