KARACHI, Nov 15: Three ships carrying containers, chemicals and iron ore were berthed at QICT, EVT and IOCB during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Meanwhile, three more ships with containers, coke and edible oil also got anchored at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Sealand Independence, Chitral, New Toyokaze, Kang Yung, Keefan, Anette Kosan and Nueva Union, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice and edible oil, yellow peas, diesel oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 49,109 tons comprising 30,961 tons of import cargo and 18,148 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as San Clemente and New Toyokaze left the port while Anette Kosan was due to depart.

Nine ships, Multan, Sports Queen, Olympic Galaxy, Minoan Flame, Harati, Docomo, Nueva Union, Matumba and Selin, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
