KARACHI, Nov 15: Six ships carrying steel, chemicals and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where four ships, Hanjin Busan to unload and load containers, Teen to offload coal, Johar to unload crude oil and Rossane to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of as many.

Departing ships were led by Maersk Alaska, Ilse Wuff, Hanjin Busan and Rossane, while Al-Hussaini, Johar and Ever Guide are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the total tonnage amounted to 0.103m tons comprising 19,041 tons of export cargo including 3,668 tons of rice and 1,040 tons of cement and 83,485 tons of import tonnage, which also included 3,793 tons of sugar and 15,148 tons of DAP fertilizer.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Giada-D, with 1,253 tons of chemicals, Hyundai Stride, Y.M.Moon, APL Orchid, with containers, Pretty Flourish, and Lake Ranger, with 27,277 and 34,000 tons of steel cargo.
