KARACHI: Four killed in separate incidents

KARACHI, Nov 14: Four persons were killed in separate incidents in different areas on Monday. A salesman of the electronic market died and a suspect was seriously wounded in crossfire between armed bandits and police in Saddar electronic market.

SHO Preedy said two suspected bandits were fleeing from a shop. As they saw a policeman standing near Hashoo Centre, they opened fire. The policeman also returned the fire seriously wounding a suspect. During the crossfire, a salesman, Shahid, who was standing at a tea stall suffered a fatal bullet wound and died on way to the hospital.

The SHO said, “We have recovered a TT pistol and several rounds from the possession of the suspect. However, his accomplice escaped taking advantage of the crossfire,” he added.

In old city area, an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead on Monday evening.

Police said Nomi Butt was going on a motorcycle when he was targeted near Aurengzeb Market. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

In Korangi, a housewife was killed allegedly by her husband.

Police said that Kaleemullah allegedly killed his wife Soofia, 26, by slitting her throat in his house and escaped.

Her body was sent to JPMC for autopsy. She was mother of two children.

In Liaquatabad, a man was killed by unidentified motorcyclists on Monday morning.

Police said Mohammad Saleem, 45, was going down the street when some armed men shot him dead and fled. Police said Saleem was wanted in several cases of arms and narcotics.
