KARACHI, Nov 14: Acting Chief Controller of Buildings Rauf Akhtar Farooqi has said that those supporting illegal constructions and the officials showing negligence in this regard would be dealt with sternly. “No leniency will be shown to the builders’ mafia involved in construction irregularities,” he declared while chairing a meeting of KBCA officers here on Monday.

Mr Farooqi said on the directive of City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, a special counter had been set up in the KBCA where people could lodge their complaints regarding problems relating to the KBCA and the same would be resolved. People could also receive the relevant information from the counter.

He made it clear to the participants of the meeting that dishonesty and corruption will not be tolerated.

The meeting was informed that KBCA’s demolition staff was working as per normal practice and that disposal of completion cases would be expedited so that KBCA’s revenues could be increased. — APP
