ISLAMABAD, Nov 14: The ministry of privatization and investment and the Emirates Telecommunication Corporation will hold another round of meetings to discuss outstanding issues regarding the sale of 26 per cent shares of Pakistan Telecommunications Company Ltd (PTCL) to Etisalat.
After a series of meetings held in Abu Dhabi, the two sides have concluded in principle that it is in the interest of both the parties to hold another round of meetings, stated an announcement jointly issued by Pakistani and UAE governments here on Monday.
The announcement has given no clue to the venue of next meetings. However, sources said a delegation of Etisalat would visit Pakistan for holding talks and that it could be the final round.
The meetings will try to find a solution that could be acceptable to both the sides, stated the announcement.
Meanwhile, the government has reportedly revised the payment schedule for the privatization of PTCL to 20 months as against the earlier deadline of three months.
