KARACHI, Nov 14: Three ships carrying containers and diesel oil were arranged berthing at QICT and Fotco Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Meanwhile, three more ships with containers, chemicals and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Serena, San Clemente, Chitral, New Toyokaze, Kang Yung, Maersk Arizona and Keefan, were busy in loading and offloading containers, rice, edible oil, peas, diesel oil.

Cargo handling was maintained on the higher side at the wharves where a total tonnage of 105,886 tons comprising 87,756 tons of import and 18,130 tons of export was handled.

Sailing was active as Maersk Arizona and Serena left the port while San Clemente and New Toyokaze were due to depart.

Four ships, Sealand Independence, Anette Kosan, Dococmo and Nuea Union were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
