More aid sought

ISLAMABAD, Nov 13: Donors’ conference being organized by the government will help create awareness among major donors regarding the needs of people affected by the Oct 8 earthquake.

“All participating donors would be informed properly through the conference about the quake devastation,” said Amir Sohail, in-charge of Sahara centre, a non-governmental organization on Sunday.

He said that during the conference, the donors would be able to assess the damage in the quake-affected areas.

Relief assistance was pouring in, but it was not enough to meet the needs of the victims, he added.

Mr Sohail appealed to donors to contribute more for the relief and rehabilitation of earthquake victims. He hoped that donors would pledge more for the affected people.—APP
