Waseem hits century in each innings

LAHORE, Nov 12: Mirza Waseem Baig, who struck unbeaten 215 in the first innings hit another century in the second innings scoring 111 for Islamabad as their National Under-19 Inter-region cricket championship match against Lahore Ravi ended in a tame draw at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke on Saturday.

Waseem’s knock enabled Islamabad to declare the second innings at 232 for nine to set a winning target of 288 for Lahore Ravi in 35 overs. Waseem hit 14 fours off 113 balls.

In reply, Lahore Ravi propelled by a century of opener Abid Ali (121, 14 fours, two sixes, 108 balls) could collect 175 for three wickets.

Summarised scores:

ISLAMABAD (1st innings) 344 for six (Mirza Waseem Baig 213 not out; Khurram Shahzad 4-55) and 232 for nine wkts dec (Mirza Waseem Baig 111; Saad Nasim 4-60).

LAHORE RAVI 289 (Mehroz Khan 55, Asif Ghafoor 52; Junaid Khan 3-41, Mehmood Azam 3-35) and 175 for three (Abid Ali 121 not out).
