KARACHI, Nov 11: The main rounds of the 6th Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) international squash championship gets under way at Roshan Khan/Jaghangir Khan Squash Complex on Saturday with just three foreigners in the fray.

Last year’s runner-up Shahid Zaman, top-seeded for the event, takes on Mark Heather of England in his opening round of the US$25,000 competition while second seed Mansoor Zaman faces Arshad Iqbal Burki.

Third seed England’s Jonathan Kemp will be up against Safeerullah of Pakistan and fourth seed Shamsul Islam Khan takes on former champion and qualifier Amjad Khan.

Amjad, a former Pakistan Open champion, will make a comeback after nearly two years due to serious knee injury.

After two days qualifying rounds Amjad, Farhan Mahboob, Khawaja Adil Maqbool and Khalid Atlas Khan completed the draw of 16.

In the best match of the qualifying round, Adil ousted Sherif Mustufa of Egypt, the lone foreign qualifier featuring in the qualifying rounds 3-1 in a 55-minute tussle.
