SHIKARPUR, Nov 11: Two bandits were arrested after an encounter with Rangers and police on Friday morning. The bandits identified as Hidayatullah alias Hidu Shar and Laung alias Loangan Shar, of Mirza Khan Shar village, Lakhi Ghulam Shah taluka, were going on a motorcycle when police and Rangers party led by Lt-Col Tariq Mehmood Sarwar of Shahbaz Rangers 43-Wing camp at Shikarpur arrested them after an encounter.

Lt-Col Mehmood told newsmen that the accused were wanted by Shikarpur and Khairpur districts police in different crimes like dacoities, kidnappings, murders etc.

The Chak police have registered a case against the arrested outlaws while one motorbike, one Kalashnikov and big quantity of ammunitions were also recovered from their possession.

SENTENCED: The special judge (narcotics), Shikarpur district, convicted Sikandar Ali Machhi for four years’ rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs30,000 on charges of drug peddling.
