150 outlaws arrested in Mardan

MARDAN, Nov 11: The Mardan police arrested 150 outlaws, including 14 proclaimed offenders, and recovered arms and ammunition during raids.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, District Police Officer Abid Ali said that a police party raided various hideouts and arrested 150 accused, including 14 proclaimed offenders.

He also claimed that police recovered a sizable number of small and lethal weapons from the possession of the outlaws. The weapons include seven Kalashnikovs, four rifles, seven guns, 41 pistols, one hand grenade and 1,210 cartridges. One kg hashish was also seized.

REJECTED: The District and Sessions Judge of Mardan rejected the bail applications of three accused and also put off hearing of the case against District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar till Nov 15.

Himayatullah Mayar and seven others were charged under sections 324, 195A, 353, 148, 149 and 427 PPC following an attack on a telephone operator in Police Lines on Nov 2.
