KARACHI: Guru Nanak’s birthday celebrated


KARACHI, Nov 11: The 536th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak was celebrated in Sindh Assembly on Friday. The ceremony was attended by a large number of leaders of Sikh community, coming from different parts of the world besides representatives of Muslims as well as Hindu and Christian communities.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy speaker of Sindh Assembly, Raheela Tiwana, said that Pakistan was the only country in the world where all minorities enjoyed complete freedom for exercising their religion.

Visiting Sikh leader from Dubai, Vainder Singh, thanked the deputy speaker for gathering people of different religion and thoughts on the eve of Guru Nanak’s birthday.

Bishop Inayat Ejaz said all minorities in Pakistan were patriotic and united. Maharaja Asarmal Manglani said the gathering of all communities on one platform was the massage to the entire world that all communities here were united and equal.

Among others, Safina Javed, Meena Humayon, Ghazala Shafeeq, Priest Shafiq Kanwal, Mangla Sharma, Sardar Ramesh Singh, Himan Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Babu Lalgir, Prem Singh were also present.—PPI
