NEW YORK, Nov 11: The head of International Atomic Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei, recipient of Nobel Peace prize this year, was pulled out of line at Logan airport in Boston and searched by security officials before being allowed to fly on to Washington, news reports here said.
According to diplomats at the United Nations the incident occurred on Sunday. ElBaradei’s wife, who was travelling with him, was also stopped and searched, as officials apparently screen people according to their names. One diplomat, contacted in Washington from Vienna, said ElBaradei was “really angry and embarrassed by the incident.” IAEA officials refused to comment on the report.
