SRINAGAR, Nov 10: An Indian army official was killed in a gunbattle with freedom fighters on Thursday in the disputed region of Kashmir, a military spokesman told AFP. “Indian army cordoned off two houses where the militants were hiding, on a tip off, and when the soldiers closed in, the militants opened fire killing an army Major,” spokesman Vijay Batra said.
