UAE rout Iran

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Shehan Dharmasena smashed a masterly 109 while Rameez Shahzad weighed in with a solid half-century as UAE scored a massive 336-run victory over newcomers Iran in Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Cup.

UAE, batting first, knocked up a massive 375 for seven wickets in allotted 50 overs with Dharmanasea leading the assault against innocuous Iranian attack. Dharmasena faced 122 deliveries with his 109 that contained 12 fours.

Rameez (52), Shoiab Sarwar (40) and Owaid Hameed (38) chipped in with useful runs against a mediocre Iranian attack.

UAE bowlers wasted littled time in wrapping up proceedings, bowling out Iran for 39.—Agencies
