Aminur Rahman takes six catches

LAHORE, Nov 10: Karachi Urban after early setbacks fought back against Multan on the second day of their four-day Quaid-i-Azam Gold League cricket championship at National Stadium on Thursday with hosts wicketkeeper Aminur Rehman snapping victims behind the stumps.

Replying to Multan’s first innings total of 263, Karachi Urban were 181 for five wickets when stumps were drawn for the day, still 83 runs behind with five wickets in hand.

At close of play Wasim Naeem (31) with five boundaries and Aminur Rehman (5) were at the crease.

Opener Maisam Hasnain stroked a fine 46 with seven fours and Farhan Adil hit eight boundaries in his 43. The pair added 60 runs for the fourth wicket.

Earlier Multan resuming at their overnight score of 203 added exactly added 60 runs before being dismissed for 263, half an hour before lunch break.

Left arm paceman Nasir Khan produced another fiery spell to finish with fine figures of five wickets for 59 in 28.2 overs, taking three of the four wickets to fall. Fellow pacer Tabish Khan ended with four wickets for 59 in 25 overs.

After taking four catches on the first day, Aminur Rehman added two more catches to end the innings with six victims.

FIRST INNINGS LEAD FOR KH

Karachi Harbor took a slender four run lead over Quetta and later took upper hand on the match by stumps on the second day in their Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Trophy Silver League Championship match at UBL Sports Complex ground Thursday.

Right arm medium pacer Azhar snapped-up six wickets for 66 runs in 19 overs and Ali Imran grabbed four wickets as Karachi resuming at their overnight of 41 for one, were dismissed for 230 in their first innings in reply to Quetta’s first innings score of 226.

By close of play Quetta were struggling at 86 for four wickets in their second innings. Off-break bowler Irfanuddin produced a tight spell of two wickets for 12 runs in nine overs.

Opener Hameedullah made a fighting 38 with the aid of four boundaries after batting for just under two hours.
