KARACHI, Nov 10: As many as 110 volunteers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement left for Islamabad on Thursday to take part in the relief work at the 20 camps and field hospitals set up by the party.

At the Cantonment Station, the group was seen off by In-charge of the MQM Rabita Committee Anwer Alam, member of the committee Dr Nusrat, Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui and Qamar Mansoor.

MPAs Bilqis Mukhtar and Hira Ismail, along with other women workers of the party, have also left for Islamabad with the volunteers, according to a statement issued from the party’s headquarters.

It said that in the last few days, 208 workers and volunteers have left the city for Islamabad to take part in the relief work being carried out by the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation.

On Wednesday, 92 workers and volunteers had left for quake-hit areas in three coaches.

Speaking on the occasion, the Muttahida leaders praised the sprit shown by the workers and said that people had appreciated the efforts being made by them to reach out the suffering humanity and provide them all possible assistance.
