KARACHI: Each town to get Rs50m for sewerage uplift


KARACHI, Nov 9: The City District Government will provide Rs 50 million to each town for replacement of old water and sewerage lines. This was stated by City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal in a meeting with town nazims at his office here on Wednesday.

He asked the town nazims to prepare plans for improvement or replacement of obsolete water and sewerage lines by Nov 30 and submit PC-1 with the KWSB to start work at the earliest.

Mustafa Kamal said that the city government was taking steps for solving the water and sewerage problems on priority basis.

He said that KWSB has been released Rs 2,700 million which would be spent on the proposed projects of towns and city government. Overall, he pointed out Rs 2 billion have been earmarked for towns.

He said that the city government would initiate its projects in coordination and cooperation with towns.

On the occasion, town nazims apprised the city nazim about their respective problems and presented various suggestions for bringing about required improvements.

City Nazim asked all the towns nazims to make coordinated efforts for solving the problems of the people.—APP
