NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Highwaymen escape arrest

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 9: Some highwaymen robbed some trucks on the National Highway near the Bhirya town on Tuesday night and fled when the motorway police reached the place.

Motorway Police patrol officer Amir Ali Tanwari received the information that some robbers, travelling in a truck, were robbing trucks on the highway.

When police reached on the spot near the Bhirya town, the robbers opened fire on them, threw logs on the road and escaped leaving behind their truck.

The Motorway Police handed over the truck to the Bhirya town police.

The Bhirya police said that 15 bags of desi sugar and five bags of white sugar were found from the impounded vehicle.

ROBBERY: Bandits robbed gold ornaments and other valuables from three houses near the main bus stop of Kandiaro on Tuesday night.

According to reports, six robbers entered the houses of Mukhtiar Ahmed, Yasin and Ghous Bux, beat women and took away jewellery.

An FIR has been launched against Ghulam Ali Channa and Nazir Odhano on the complaint of Ghulam Asghar.
