SUKKUR: Five outlaws killed in encounter with police

SUKKUR, Nov 9: Five alleged outlaws wanted by police in several criminal cases were killed on Wednesday in an encounter with police at a place about one kilometre away from the upstream of the Guddu barrage, on the border of Sindh and Punjab.

The deceased included the gang leader, Tariq Bosan, carrying head money of Rs1 million.

Tariq Bosan was wanted by police in 150 cases of murder, kidnapping and other heinous crimes.

Police sources said that SHO Ahmed Pur Lama was going to Guddu when he saw five armed persons travelling on motorcycles.

He immediately informed DSP Tariq Dharejo and Sadiqabad ASP Pir Mohammad Shah, who rushed to the area along with heavy contingent of police.

The outlaws were killed in an encounter with the police.

The deceased outlaws were Tariq Bosan, his brother Jawed Bosan, Mukhtiar Bosan, Jan Mohammad Bosan and Allah Dad Bhind.

Two policemen Saeed Ahmed and Akbar were injured in the encounter.

According to the police sources, the area of encounter was located in the dense forest around one kilometre away from Guddu.

DSP Tariq Dharejo told Dawn on telephone that the dead bodies were in custody of the police.

He said the bodied would be sent to the Rahim Yar Khan hospital for autopsy.

The DSP said the condition of the injured policemen was out of danger.

PML LEADER: Senior Vice President of the PML Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh has alleged that some people forcibly want to grab the Shaikh Farm despite the verdict of the court in his favour.

He sent a statement to Dawn through a fax on Wednesday.

He said that on Monday night a heavy contingent of police led by Shikarpur DPO Farid Jan Sarhandi, DSP Anwar Gopang, DSP Taj Mohammad Noonari, SHO Naeem Pathan, and SHO Ehsan Bharchoondi raided the farm, hurled hand grenades and occupied the farm for the second time.

Mr Shaikh alleged that the incident took place at the behest of Agha Tariq Pathan, Agha Taimoor Pathan and Provincial Minister Mir Manzoor Panhwar.

He warned the Sindh chief minister that such affairs could bring an end to the seize fire between them.

The vice president made it clear that the land measuring 85 acres was in the name of his brother, Maqbool Shaikh, since 1986.

He said that they had produced all documents in the court of law.

Mr Shaikh termed such activities as political victimization and said he was not afraid of them.

He said many fake cases against him and his brother Maqbool Shaikh were under trial in the courts and he was hopeful to get justice.

He claimed that the Shaikh farm was their property and nobody could take it forcefully from them.

TRUCK ROBBED: Bandits on Wednesday robbed a truck loaded with ghee, in the jurisdiction of Mouladad police station.

Some gunmen intercepted the truck of the Indus Ghee Mills, which was going to Quetta, overpowered the driver on gunpoint and took away the truck with them.

BUS LOOTED: A Sadiqabad bound passenger coach from Karachi was robbed by armed men near the Daharki bypass in the Ghotki district on early Wednesday morning.

Six armed bandits, who were among the passengers, overpowered the driver and the passengers on gunpoint and deprived them of cash, wristwatches, mobile phones and other valuables.
