KARACHI: KBCA told to demolish unauthorized structure
KARACHI, Nov 8: The Sindh High Court directed the Karachi Building Control Authority KBCA to completely demolish an unauthorized construction in survey No 331 Jaffer Tayar Co-operative Housing Society in Malir and submit a report.
SHC’s single bench, comprising Justice Zia Pervaiz, was hearing the application of the Society seeking demolition of unauthorized construction on the plot of a Madressah.
The Nazir, appointed to inspect the demolition work, submitted in his report that on disputed land only 25 per cent construction was demolished in such a way so that it could not be used for a residence.
On court query regarding non-implementation of the order, KBCA counsel requested further two months time to demolish the unauthorized construction.
The court granting time ordered that unauthorized construction on shall be removed within two months and report be submitted on Jan 11, 2006.
KIDNAPPING CASES: Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Administrative Judge for Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATCs) for Karachi division, on Tuesday accepted charge-sheets against accused in three different cases of kidnapping for ransom and subsequent murders.
The first charge-sheet submitted by the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police was against Inspector Faheem Farooqui and Altaf Hussain booked for kidnapping Fahad Hamdani.
The AJ entrusted the trial of the case to ATC-I, headed by Judge Syed Ale-Maqbool Rizvi.
The second case of kidnapping and killing Qazi Muneeb-ul-Haq was entrusted to ATC-V, headed by Judge Haq Nawaz Baloch. The accused include Abdul Asif, Atif Khan and Syed Rizwan booked by Surjani Town PS of Gadap town.
The third charge-sheet was submitted against Qazi Hanifullah, Qazi Farhan and Sikandar Shah who kidnapped Umer Hamid from the jurisdiction of PS Clifton. The AJ, accepting the challan, entrusted trial to the ATC-II, headed by judge Feroz Mehmood Bhatti.
BAIL GRANTED: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday granted protective bail to ex-MNA and two others in a murder case.
Raja Mohammad Afzal Khan, Raja Mohammad Asghar and Raja Mohammad Safdar, along with others, are facing murder, attempt to murder charges in Jhelum. They sought protective bail.
Chudhry Tasneem Nasir Iqbal, an MPA from Punjab, lodged a case against the applicants in Saddar police station Jhelum alleging that the accused along with MNA Raja Mohammad Asad attacked his convoy during local bodies polls on Aug 25 as a result his guard Liaquat Ali was killed while several others were injured.
Applicant’s counsel contended that his clients were falsely implicated in the case due to political rivalry.
SHC’s division bench, comprising Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery and Justice Ali Sain Dino Metlo, after hearing the case granted protective bail to applicants for 10 days with surety of Rs.5,00,000 each.—PPI/APP
