Torture case registered against ex-CM

QUETTA, Nov 7: Wadh police have registered an FIR against former Balochistan chief minister Sardar Akhtar Mengal and six others for torturing a local JUI leader’s brother.

The SHO of the police station, Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam, told Dawn on Monday that the FIR had been lodged by Wadh Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam general secretary Maulana Najamul Islam against Sardar Mengal, Mir Salam, Haji Nazeer, Abdul Shams, Zafar and Manzoor.

The complainant alleged that his brother Noorul Islam had been kept in a room and tortured.—Correspondent
