KARACHI: Clarification by Nadra

KARACHI, Nov 7: The National Database Registration Authority has clarified a news-item about its vehicle inspection and monitoring system and claimed that Nadra had formulated a plan for its implementation.

Referring to the news item “Flaws seen in Nadra’s anti-theft system” (Nov 7), it stated that Nadra had long been working on its vehicle inspection and monitoring system (VIMS) and many meetings have been held in this regard with senior officials at both the federal and provincial levels.

In a metropolis city like Karachi, disruption of electricity and telephone lines are minor issues in relation to car thefts. In case of disruptions, standby generators will help in transmitting data without any delay. As far as allocation of budget, expenditure or generators and manpower deployment are concerned. Nadra has already formulated a plan.
