MUZAFFARABAD: 90pc of debris removed from Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 3: The Pakistan Army has completed 90 per cent work of removing debris and recovering dead bodies in the quake-hit areas of Muzaffarabad. According to the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) sources, the Disaster Cell of the Pakistan Army has so far completed its assignment in the Madina Market, the Civil Secretariat, the Khawaja Mohallah and University areas.

Sources said that work is in progress in the Bayla Noor Shah, the Iprada and the Naya Mohallah Market.

The work in these areas was delayed because no local resident was available at that timeto guide the rescue teams, the sources added. Pakistan Army has appealed to the residents of the area through newspapers and banners to collect their belongings within two or three days.

Meanwhile, engineers of the Pakistan Army have cleared all the affected roads in Bagh and Rawalakot. Except the Neelam Valley Road and the Muzaff-arabad-Chakoti Road all the roads have been reopened. Part of Gari Dopata Road, Poonch Road, Nosayri Road, part of Chakoti Road and part of Kagan-Balakot Road have been cleared of debris.-–Online
