KARACHI: Man stabbed to death over property issue

KARACHI, Nov 1: A man killed his brother and wounded his sister-in-law over a property dispute in Orangi Town on Tuesday, police said. Father of two, Rias Ahmed, 30, was repeatedly stabbed by his younger brother Ejaz in their house in Orangi Town Sector 7-A. Victim’s wife Saba Naz in a bid to rescue her husband also got wounded.

Police said that father of the two bothers had left two houses for his sons, but Ejaz was reportedly trying to grab the property of his elder brother.

The suspect was arrested by the police and sharp objected used in the killing was also recovered. DIES:

A man was killed in an accidental firing incident in Defence area late on Monday night.

Police said that Kamran Khan, 40, was reportedly playing around with his pistol at his house in Khayaban-i-Tauheed. Cautioned by his wife to check the pistol for bullets, Kamran fired aiming towards the roof. The bullet hit the roof and rebound hitting Kamran at the top side of his skull causing his instant death.

ACCIDENT: Enraged people set an errant bus on fire after it rammed a rickshaw at M.A. Jinnah Road on Tuesday.

Police said that a speeding bus of route (2-D) rammed a rickshaw near Naz Plaza, M.A.Jinnah Road resulting in the instant death of the rickshaw driver. The bus sped away from the spot; however, some motorcyclists followed the bus and set it on fire after intercepting it near OMI Hospital. However, the bus driver was arrested.

The rickshaw driver was taken to the Civil Hospital, but could not be immediately identified.

ARREST: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday arrested a member of the banned militant organization, Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.

Police sources said that Kashif alias Shaheen was arrested with an unlicensed pistol. A case under section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance was registered against him. They said that the suspect had allegedly attacked the army personnel in Wana. He was also involved in attacking police and other heinous crimes.

ROBBERIES: Bandits snatched or stole 27 cellphones on Tuesday in different localities.

Police said that eight people were deprived of their cellphones at gunpoint in various areas while 19 other people reported to the police about theft of their cellphones.
