PM rules out volcanic eruption

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: Prime Minister, Shaukat Aziz, on Monday said that according to the report of Geological Survey of Pakistan, there was no possibility of volcanic eruption in Allai.

He, however, called upon the population of the areas to come down to the tent villages before harsh winter sets in so that they could be provided with basic facilities of life.

The prime minister was talking to Chief Minister, NWFP, Mr. Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani, who called on him along with senior officers of the NWFP at the Prime Minister‘s House here on Monday. During the meeting relief and rescue operation going on in the NWFP came under discussion.

Mr Aziz said the Federal Government would continue to provide every assistance required by provincial government for the rehabilitation of earthquake affected areas.
