KARACHI, Oct 31: Top seeds Jonathon Power and John White will meet in the final of the Suburban Collection Motor City Squash Open at the Birmingham Athletic Club in Detroit, USA, the pair’s second meeting in two weeks, after contesting a British Open quarterfinal.
According to the details made available on Monday, Canadian favourite Power, the world No2 from Montreal, took 80 minutes to contain England’s third seed Nick Matthew 11-9, 10-11, 11-6, 11-6 to celebrate his 60th appearance in a major international final.
In the other semifinal, John White — the No2 seed from Scotland who is now based in the USA — survived two tie-breaks in his 45-minute battle against unseeded Wael El Hindi before beating the 25-year-old from Cairo 11-10, 11-10, 11-5.
