LAHORE, Oct 31: PML president Shujaat Husain gets at least Rs1,000 from every person who comes to meet him these days.

The funds collected thus will be distributed among quake victims on Eid day when the ruling party chief will visit various hospitals in Azad Kashmir.

When a Dawn reporter met Shujaat at his Gulberg residence on Monday, a straw basket was lying beside him, full of Rs1,000 notes.

Asked about the mystery behind the overflowing basket, the PML leader said these days he was charging every visitor of his.

Put in here a Rs1,000 note immediately, he asked a visitor who had come at that very moment, drawing his attention to the basket. He instantly complied.

Shujaat said enough funds would be raised during the next few days, and all of them would be distributed among quake victims on the Eid day.

Shujaat and secretary-general Mushahid Husain will celebrate Eid in Bagh. They will reach there a day before Eid and stay in a tent.

The PML leaders are also making arrangements to distribute food among the poor people of Bagh.
