‘No plan to hire prayer leaders’: Population welfare projects
GUJRANWALA, Oct 31: The Population Welfare department has no plan to hire prayer leaders in remote areas and it is running its projects in accordance with government policy.
A press release issued by District Population Welfare Officer Ms Sarfraz Khurshed on Monday said the department had no plans to pay honorarium to prayer leader for promoting its programmes in remote areas.
She said, however, the department would implement the government directives in this regard.
GEPCO: Gujranwala Electric Power Company chief Brig Saifullah Khalid has directed all superintending engineers, executive engineers and sub-divisional officers to hold open kutcheries to solve the consumers’ problems in their respective jurisdictions at least once in a week.
He said provision of better facilities to consumers at their doorsteps was among company’s top priorities.
Meanwhile, Gepco constituted emergency centres in all sub-divisions for ensuring smooth power supply to consumers during Eid holidays.

Balakot hospital: The DHQ hospital will run the government Punjab hospital set up at Balakot by the provincial government for quake victims.
This was said by medical superintendent Dr Nisar Ahmad Cheema here on Monday.
He said doctors and paramedical staff, besides medical equipment and medicines had been sent there.
He said the 50-bed hospital comprised four containers and the DHQ hospital would run it for six months through its own staff and resources. He said another 50-bed hospital had been set up at Muzaffarabad which was being run by Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.
He said two containers would be used for outdoor and residences of doctors and paramedical staff and as many containers reserved for quake victims.
