LAHORE, Oct 29: Inzamamul Haq finally hit form with a 70-ball 76 as the four-day trial match between Pakistan XI and Rest of Pakistan fizzled out into a draw at the Qadhafi Stadium on Saturday.
The Pakistan captain, badly in need of a morale-boosting innings following a lean patch, was in aggressive mood as he bludgeoned six sixes, three in a row off the bowling of off-spinner Arshad Khan to the long-off region. He also hit two sixes off leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed.
Inzamam came out with Salman Butt to resume the second innings of the Pakistan XI which was in tatters at 16 for three after overnight batsman Mohammad Asif opted to retire to give Inzamam a chance to have some batting practice.
Inzamam also slammed five fours.
Salman, who also retired out, scored 33. Inzamam then decided to recall Asim Kamal to have another chance to run into some form ahead of the series against England. But Asim, despite batting thrice in the match, made only 39.
The left-hander was dismissed twice by paceman Shoaib Akhtar and once by Mushtaq Ahmed.
