Sameer grabs winner
KARACHI, Oct 29: Munawwaruz Zaman XI reached final when they handed a 4-2 defeat to Zubair XI in the Ramazan Hockey Khursheed Benefit tournament at UBL Sports Complex on Saturday.
The winners went ahead through Sameer Hussain in the 15th minute followed by two goals by discarded Pakistan spearhead Kashif Jawwad in the 25th and 39th minute.
The losers reduced the margin through Shabbir Ahmad in the 42nd minute, while Adeel Hussain completed the tally for the winners in the 55th minute.
Shabbir got his double four minutes later.
In another match, National Club beat Hanif Khan XI 2-0.
After a barren first half, Kamran Ashraf opened the scoring in the 40th minute, while Younus Ahmad doubled the lead in the 52nd minute.
Munawwaruz Zaman XI meet Gulfaraz XI in Monday’s final.
