Height Of Happiness to win Gujrat Cup
LAHORE, Oct 29: The highly strung bay filly, Height Of Happiness, is fancied to win the Gujrat Cup, a class III handicap race to be run over 1600m during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.
Running in the sixth race of the day, the filly from English sire Key Of Luck out-of-Theatre’s Daniello, Sixth Happiness trained by Haji Ghulam Sarwar, is knocking at the door of victory since Oct 2 last.
She had performed very well during the last season during which she ran exceptionally well in a couple of events and had been the centre of attraction among fillies for the race-goers.
She will be going all out for the first success of the ongoing season, though a belated one.
Lucky Murad and Challenger should give some challenge, if there is any from the tiny field of seven runners, left after the final scratchings.
The supporting and seventh event, the Wazirabad Cup for class IV division I, to be run over the sprinting distance of 1200m, too has a similar number of runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.
This looks a match between two fillies, namely, Trace Hit and Brave Majesty. The filly Trace Hit has already won two races in a row and will be on the trot to complete a hat trick of victories on Sunday.
Brave Majesty has to her credit a facile win and will be going all out to make it two in a row. But it depends on the connections which way they opt for, a compromise or a contest?
Zoro and Storm Warning are the pick of eight runners in the eighth race, a class IV division II handicap race to be contested over 1200m.
Though carrying a top weight of 9-2 in the handicap, Zoro looks better sprinter than Storm Warning over 1200m.
The other five events of a card of eight races, to be decided in the afternoon, look competitive. There may be some thrills and shrills in store for the race-fans.
For the first time during the season, a term race for two-year-old thoroughbreds will be held. It has a dozen colts and fillies who will be making their debut in races.
Nothing can be said as to how they have been trained and are going to perform.
This is because in such events results are unpredictable for many a reason. Any how on pedigree three look good. They are Herry Can View (Dazzling Star-Tango Cash), Motivator (One Against All-Cisco Magic) and Top Cat (Re Play-Princess Rukhtas). One can only wish them good Luck.
The first race will be held at 12 noon.
