Jamshed sparkles for Lahore Ravi

LAHORE, Oct 29: Five wickets by Jamshed Ahmed enabled Lahore Ravi to beat Quetta by an innings and 109 runs in the National inter-region U-19 cricket championship at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke on Saturday.

Lahore Ravi, who had taken 222-run lead on first innings by scoring 360 for nine in 83 overs in reply to Quetta first innings 138, managed to bundle out the rivals in the second for 113 to complete the win.

Jamshed who gave away 43 runs for five wickets also completed the match-haul of 10 wickets.

At Bohranwali Ground, Faisalabad the match between Faisalabad and Karachi Urban ended in draw.

QUETTA: 138 (Muhammad Aslam 63; Jamshed Ahmed 5-44) and 113 (Attaur Rehman 35; Jamshed Ahmed 5-43).

LAHORE RAVI 360 for nine, 83 overs (Muhammad Asim 110, Waqas Ahmed 88; Zahoor Ahmed 3-101).

FAISALABAD 300 in 82.5 overs (Muhammad Amir 56, Muhammad Liaq 42; Misbah Khan 5-104) and 214 for nine wkts (Zeeshan Ali 4-49).

KARACHI URBAN 306 for nine, 83 overs (Abdul Saad 81 not out).

APP adds: Rawalpindi overwhelmed Multan by 10 wickets and collected 12 points from this thumping victory in the three-day National Under-19 Inter-Region Cricket Championship match at ARL Ground on Saturday.

Rawalpindi, 78 runs in front on the first innings, shot out Multan for second time for 121 on the last day of the match.

Opening pair Owais Zia (28 not out) and Muhammad Ibrahim (12 not out) reached the target of 44 in just 29 balls without being separated.

The pace duo of Akhter Ayub (4-53) and Haseeb Amjad (4-43) were instrumental in accounting for the second innings of Multan after they resumed on 27-1.

Spinner Yasim Murtaza got one wicket as Muhammad Aqeel Anwar (22) and Qaiser Shehzad (16) being the main scorers for Multan.
