KARACHI, Oct 29: Three ships carrying containers and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

In the meantime, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 56 per cent as five ships, Dubai, Saudi Hofuf, Ville De Mars, Dymphana Cemini and Capt P Egglezos, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil and wheat.

A cargo volume of 48,347 tons comprising 35,818 tons of import cargo and 12,529 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Dubai, Dymphana, Ville De Mars, Amanat and Al-Maqwa left the port while Saudi Hofuf and Gemini were due to depart.

Two ships, Al-Marwah and Europi, were due to arrive at the port while Yanaseni was expected to reach on Sunday.
