Amin saves Karachi

FAISALABAD, Oct 28: Wicket-keeper Aminur Rehman saved Karachi Urban from being bowled out cheaply by a fighting century (107) against Faisalabad at Iqbal Stadium on the first day of the four-day match on Friday.

Karachi were reeling at 29 for five wickets but Amin first with Ahmar Saeed (36) put on 113 runs for the sixth wicket and later with Tanvir Ahmed (57) put on 56 runs for the seventh wicket to enable the tourists to reach a respectable 255 in 77.4 overs.

Medium pacer Sami Ullah Niazi was the main destroyer of Karachi batting to finish with the figures of five wickets for 59 from 18 hostile overs.

Faisalabad had scored 14 without loss when the stumps were drawn for the day.
